Delegation from Africa speaks to students from Denver Center
for International Studies | A
global outlook and global skills are as important as basic
literacy, which is why IIE Rocky Mountain calls its schools outreach program
GlobaLiteracy. The goals of GlobaLiteracy are to create
opportunities for students to gain global outlook, foster world affairs interest
and cultural understanding, and provide international shared experiences.
GlobaLiteracy offers speakers in the classroom, scholarships to local events,
and special discussion time with DWAC speakers.
Speakers in the Classroom
IIE Rocky Mountain can help arrange for international visitors,
professionals, foreign Fulbright students and world travelers to speak to your
class about customs, cultures, and lifestyles. These visits often humanize
classroom curriculum and give the students the opportunity to put faces to the
places they study.
Academic
WorldQuest Academic WorldQuest is a Flagship Program of the
World Affairs Council system. Each spring teams of four gather in Washington,
D.C. for a weekend of globally-oriented activities. Teams compete by answering
rounds of questions testing their knowledge of current affairs, world leaders,
geography, recent history, flags, international organizations, countries,
regions, the world economy, culture, religion, and more. A full competition is
100 questions, 10 rounds of 10 questions per round.
